To upgrade thesis 1.7 download new version from diythemes.com. Upload this into themes directory of your domain. Before upgrading new version take backup for custom folder of thesis 1.6 and if you already hacked any part of the theme core code while customizing note those changes. SEO Friendly-Robot Meta tags

Noindex meta tag- Thesis 1.6 has only noindex tag options for archive pages which will prevent archive pages indexed by search engines.

Nofollow meta tag- Now thesis 1.7 more SEO friendly here we have nofollow archive pages which is used to prevent the passing of page rank juice. If a link is a dofollow link your page rank juiced through this link. By selecting as no follow it won’t pass the juice.

Noarchive meta tag- This tag prevents search engines and internet users for saving archive pages on your site.

Page options in Thesis 1.7

Inside the page options we have Tag page and category page options and separate homepage options. Here you can add Meta tag and descriptions for homepage, Tag pages and each category which is very useful for search engine optimizations.
