Membership site with WordPress blog – Part 2

Hope you read my first part of the 2 part post series on setting up Membership Site with WordPress-Part 1.

Let me show you how the “WordPressClickbankAweberWishlist Member plugin” combination helped me to set up a whole membership site launch.

At the end of this procedure,  I would be able to launch a complete product setup where people will click on the purchase link from the sales page, pay through Clickbank payment gateway, fill the registration form to access members-only area on WordPress, get access to the membership content, files, software, etc. and will be added to the corresponding email lists in your Aweber account automatically.

WordPress ClickBank Aweber Integration

You have your WordPress site. It may be a new WordPress install or a well-grown existing WordPress site. You have to install the Wishlist Member plugin in the WordPress.

Though the Wishlist Member plugin is basically a WordPress Membership site plugin, by default, once you installed, it will not affect your WordPress site’s functionality in any way.

That means by default it will not protect any content (posts, pages, comments, categories, files, PDF, images and videos, etc.) of your WordPress. You will have to choose which content should be protected and which should not be protected and you can grant access to members only.

[Note: If you want to know all the things Wishlist Member can do, then read my post titled “What Happens When You Use Wishlist Member with WordPress”.  If you are confused about what will happen when you use this plugin with existing WordPress blog/site, you should definitely read that post where you can get to know the myths about Wishlist member.]

Now let us proceed to the WordPress-Clickbank membership site set up.

    1. Once you activated the plugin, you will see “WL plugins” on the WP admin dashboard. Click on the “WL plugins”. You will see the Wishlist dashboard.
    2. First, let us integrate the Aweber and WordPress using Wishlist Member plugin.  Here I discussed the “Wishlist Member-Aweber Integration” setup procedure.  Integrating WordPress with Aweber using WL member plugin entails only two steps. You can complete the integration in less than five minutes.
    3. Next, let us integrate the Clickbank with WordPress by using Wishlist member plugin. On this post, “WordPress-Clickbank Integration”, I provided the complete (just three steps) procedure to do the WP-Clickbank membership site setup.  You can complete the integration in just 10 minutes.

Finally, do a test sale through the Clickbank and you will be added as a member in WordPress Wishlist dashboard and you will be added simultaneously as a subscriber in your Aweber account, too.
Watch the video tutorial below to see how easy it is to set up the WordPress-Clickbank membership site using the Wishlist member plugin.

Note: Wishlist Member can be integrated in simple steps with any of these things Aweber, Mailchimp, GetResponse, AutoResponse Plus, Paypal, 1shoppingcart, Infusionsoft. So I strongly recommend this plugin to my clients and they are really happy to use it everyday.

Nice! I just read both the posts for membership sites. You’ve really been up to some crazy things here man! Bravo! I wish you all the very best. :)

Great site! Thank you for providing some great info on membership sites. I’ve been looking all over trying to decide which direction to go with my site. I currently have an Ultra Web Studio theme Wordpress site that I am looking to turn in a membership site. I need to secure videos and pages for members. Do you think I should go to a Thesis framework and get away from my current theme? I have been considering the expense of Infusionsoft. Do you suggest I do that in addition to Wishlist or will Wishlist be able to do most of what Infusionsoft can do? Do you know if I can have a Thesis theme or my Ultra Web Studio theme and add an Optimizepress squeeze/login page on the same URL or does installing Optimizepress make it not possible to run any other theme at the same time?

Thanks for your help and your info!

      Hai Ace,
You can easily Integrate Infusionsoft as auto responder and shopping cart for wishlist plugin. No need to go with others..
As far the theme consideration we should use only one theme at a time for single wordpress installation. For wordpress membership site I would suggest optimizepress theme and wishlist membership plugin. You ca use infusionsoft as auto responder and shopping cart with wishlist and optimizepress combination.

Infusionsoft has no features to protect a wordpress site. It is not a membership software or a plugin. It is just a combination of both – Autoresponder and shoppingcart, as Suresh said. For protection of content, pages, files, videos etc, you will have to go with Wishlist.

Also, if I go with Thesis, is there a skin you recommend for a membership site? Thanks again.

      Hai Ace,

For membership site Optimizepress provides different types of templates for login page, squeeze page, sales page, Video content page and etc..
But If You go with Thesis, Seo will be slightly better than optimizepress but you have to customize the thesis theme for each template you required in the membership site..
