Thank you Pascal for Niche post. I am struggling with long term comparative advantage of creating a Brand (Pen Name) verses a niche. With the Brand name in the domain name or subdomain or folder, the super narrow niche is in the page or POST title (part of the URL) and its content. The broad niche is not specified. Should this work?

Amazing article! Thank you very much for sharing all your experience and ideas in great Blogging! I am currently preparing to create my first blog, and I would like it to be very successful. I have a huge range of topics (passionate ideas of mine), and have not been able to narrow my choice down to one. Was contemplating creating a personal blog with all my topics merged in, but I can already tell that would fail quite quickly! I have one idea now after reading this article, and wondering if you could share your thoughts. My family has always been very into health and fitness, and I am getting ready to start a 6 month fitness transformation for myself, to get back into great shape and mental/physical health. Would creating a blog about all my learned tips/tricks and progress through my journey be a good idea? At the end of the 6 months, assuming I have attracted many readers, create an E-Book about how I went about the total transformation, for people who are in my current situation?

Well i finally decided on my niche. I was able to pull it together after reviewing the posts that were most viewed in combination with the posts I enjoy writing most. LinuxDroid.com is my new blog about Linux and Android.

Thanks for this good post. I am working on a blog there is 3 weeks ago, i wrote 5 articles and created a very nice theme, but i don’t know if my blog’s niche is good or not, it’s a guide to get rid of his attitude geek, it’s a french blog http://www.sickofbeingeek.blogspot.com/ (choose your language in the right bar)
the keywords that are related to my blog are not popular on google.
So please tell me if it’s a good niche or not. I really need help

DO not drop anything until you find something working for you. Keep writing on everything and you will get a lot of ideas very soon.

For now, I think the demand for programming websites is high. But you should make sure how you are going to make money with such programming website. Plan about it first and start working hard on it. You will get success soon. Choosing a topic you can write about it even after 2, 3 years – is really important. If you choose to write about customizing and plugins, can you feel sure that you will be writing a lot with interest even after years? If not, go with your expertise. That means you can go with programming as you are professional on it.
